Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed have publicly mocked Democratic strategist James Carville's recent statements about potentially leaving the Democratic Party.

Piker and El-Sayed discussed Carville's remarks during a video for Piker's Twitch channel, where Piker referenced Carville threatening to leave the party. "I'm like, you're sweetening the deal. That was really interesting," Piker said, referring to Carville's comments made to Fox News.

Carville had previously told Fox News that he and Piker would not be in the same political party. "One of us is going to leave. It might even be me," Carville stated, adding that he believed an "overwhelming majority" of Democrats agreed with him. Carville's remarks came amid Piker's increased prominence within the Democratic Party due to his support for progressive candidates.

El-Sayed responded to Carville's comments by suggesting the strategist was responsible for shifts within the party during the Clinton administration. "And then you think about like James Carville, I'm like, bro, you architected the complete right-wing ascent to neoliberalism in '96," El-Sayed said. Piker further commented that the state of Michigan became a swing state due to "the machinations of the Clinton era of politics."

El-Sayed has continued to defend campaigning with Piker despite Piker having faced criticism for past controversial statements, including claims about 9/11 and remarks concerning Hamas and Israel.
