Harry Styles Look-Alikes Vie for Concert Tickets in Times Square Contest
Six fans competed in a doppelgänger showdown for a chance to win tickets to the pop star's Madison Square Garden residency.
Six Harry Styles impersonators battled for top honors and coveted tickets to the singer's Madison Square Garden concert during a look-alike contest held at RiseNY in Times Square.
The competition, described as being based on "vibes" rather than strict likeness, ultimately crowned two winners who best embodied the spirit of the pop star.
Nicholas Kraft, a 25-year-old actor from Brooklyn, impressed the judges and crowd with his energetic performance. He wore a long silver feather coat, reminiscent of Styles' "Harry's House" era, and revealed a cropped blue blazer underneath. Kraft's performance included signature sidestep dance moves, which he noted had previously led students he worked with to mistake him for Styles. "I felt confident in what I was wearing and I luckily had a good hair day," Kraft stated.
The second winner, Sean Mac, 35, already has a professional connection to Styles, working as a tribute performer in Benidorm, Spain. Mac was on vacation in New York City and happened to have a suit and tie with him, though he acknowledged it was simpler than Styles' concert attire. "Before getting here, I didn’t expect to get in the top three…but I’m over the moon. Maybe the accent helped it and the dance moves," Mac commented.
Both Kraft and Mac were awarded two tickets each to Styles' upcoming Friday concert at Madison Square Garden. The other four contestants, including three women, did not receive tickets despite their efforts to capture Styles' iconic look and energy.
Comedian Jessie Joles, participating in the event, emphasized that the competition focused on "the fashion, the energy, the charisma" associated with Styles.
The contest was organized by RiseNYC as part of a series of events celebrating Harry Styles' 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden. This event follows a previous pop-up in the West Village, which reportedly caused significant disruption, including traffic blockages and an arrest, due to the large number of enthusiastic fans.
