England captain Harry Kane described his experience playing golf with former U.S. President Donald Trump as "surreal." The striker shared the anecdote while preparing for England's World Cup quarter-final match.
Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich, said the game took place about 18 months prior in Palm Beach, Florida. "When the president invites you somewhere... It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him," Kane told reporters. He also commented on Trump's golf game, stating, "His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as good as him when I'm his age, that's for sure. A unique experience, but I was just grateful that he invited me to play."
The U.S. is set to co-host the 2026 World Cup along with Canada and Mexico. Trump, 80, confirmed the golf outing, praising Kane as "a great player" and "a good golfer too."
