Harry Enten Responds to Trump's Use of CNN Clips

CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten has commented on former President Donald Trump’s recurring practice of using curated clips of Enten’s analysis during campaign rallies. Enten acknowledged that Trump’s campaign selects segments that highlight his continued support among the Republican base and his standing as a favored president among Republicans.

“I will admit when I made those segments and presented them to the public, I did not expect that there would be that type of infatuation from the president of the United States,” Enten said during an appearance on Tuesday. He added that while politicians often highlight data favorable to them, he was “a little surprised that the president of the United States has played it so much at rallies.”

Enten pointed out that Trump’s campaign “plays the clips that are best for him and his base,” but stated that he has also conducted analyses showing Trump’s difficulties with Republicans who are not part of the MAGA movement. According to Enten, Trump has not only lost support among this group but is now “actually underwater” with them.

Furthermore, Enten emphasized the importance of the center of the electorate in election outcomes. He noted that Trump’s numbers have significantly declined among independents, calling it a “potentially truly devastating sign.”
