Comedian Hannah Einbinder has joined a growing number of celebrities criticizing Ed Sheeran following the removal of Macklemore from his "Loop Tour" over pro-Palestine statements.

Einbinder posted on Instagram, directing a message at Sheeran and wishing him an intensely painful sunburn.

Macklemore was reportedly dropped from Sheeran's tour after making onstage comments supporting Palestine and performing his song "Hind’s Hall." The rapper claimed that venues, including those owned by Robert Kraft, threatened to cancel tour dates if he remained on the lineup.

Sheeran, in a statement, offered a different account, stating that venues informed his tour organizers that they would pull shows if Macklemore continued to perform as support. He claimed the venues' stance was based on how Macklemore conveyed part of his message, rather than all that was said.

"I spoke with the venues at length all week to try and build a bridge," Sheeran wrote. "One of those people was Robert Kraft. I was also involved in direct talks with promoters along with activists on both sides to try and find a mutual resolution for all, but the venue’s and promoter’s decision was final."

Sheeran defended his decision to avoid using his platform for political commentary, citing his diverse audience, which includes many children. He stated that concertgoers seek a "place of safety and sanctuary" at his shows, not a political forum.

"There is a reason I do not use my professional platform for politics – my audience includes young people, often children, of all backgrounds," he wrote. "Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn’t mean I don’t have them, and it doesn’t mean I don’t care."

Despite Sheeran's explanation, criticism has continued. "Wicked" actor Marissa Bode responded by asserting she has a spine, even with her physical limitations, and voiced support for Palestine. Children's educator Ms. Rachel also criticized Sheeran, stating that silence on the situation in Gaza is not neutral.

Former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters delivered a harsh rebuke, contrasting Macklemore's willingness to speak out with Sheeran's perceived silence.

Macklemore himself expressed disappointment but suggested his friendship with Sheeran might endure. He argued that refusing to take a side in an unequal conflict does not equate to neutrality.

The fallout has also impacted Sheeran's tour lineup, with Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and the band Beoga withdrawing from upcoming dates in solidarity with Macklemore. Finneas stated artists should not be silenced for speaking for oppressed people, while Rowe condemned the use of power to suppress pro-Palestinian voices. Lukas Graham expressed gratitude for his friendship with Sheeran but stated he could not continue with the tour under the current circumstances.

Messina Touring Group, the promoter for the U.S. leg of the tour, confirmed Macklemore's removal, citing venue decisions that threatened the cancellation of the tour. Macklemore stated that even if it cost him his spot on the tour, speaking the words "Free Palestine" to large audiences was a success.
