Hamas Terrorist Involved in Shani Louk Abduction Eliminated by Israel

Tamer Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sabbagh, a Hamas terrorist implicated in the abduction and murder of Shani Louk during the October 7 attacks, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza. His elimination on Monday in Jabalia marks the final member of the Hamas cell responsible for Louk's abduction.

Al-Sabbagh was part of a group seen abducting Louk, a 22-year-old German-Israeli tattoo artist, from the Nova music festival near Re’im. Infamous images showed her semi-naked body being paraded in the back of a pickup truck in Gaza, becoming a symbol of the Hamas atrocities. Forensic examiners confirmed Louk's death in late October 2023 after identifying a piece of her skull. Her remains were located by IDF soldiers in May 2024 and returned to Israel for burial.

The IDF stated that al-Sabbagh had engaged in advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and worked to restore Hamas's capabilities, which they described as a systematic violation of the ceasefire. The military added that he was eliminated to remove the threat he posed.

Louk's family had spent months attempting to gather information about her whereabouts in Gaza. Their hopes were ultimately dashed when IDF soldiers discovered human remains believed to be Louk's in a tunnel beneath a house in northern Gaza. Her father, Nissim, received confirmation of her death along with personal items.

According to the IDF, other terrorists involved in Louk's kidnapping included Attiya Daour and Basel Cheleh, both killed earlier in the conflict; Mustafa Shaheen, killed on October 10, 2023; and Mustafa Ala Khatib, who has been captured by Israeli forces.

In a separate incident, Israel also announced in September that it had killed Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr, a Hamas terrorist suspected of kidnapping hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or during the October 7 attacks. Sakr was killed in an airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and was affiliated with global jihadist organizations, reportedly supplying weapons to Hamas and participating in attacks on Israeli civilians and troops.

Argamani was rescued from Gaza on June 8, 2024, after 246 days in captivity. Or was released as part of a ceasefire agreement in October 2025.
