Halle Berry's Ex Olivier Martinez Allowed Son to Testify in Abuse Claims
A judge ruled that Maceo Martinez can provide testimony regarding abuse allegations against his mother.
A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Maceo Martinez, the 13-year-old son of actors Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, can testify in court regarding abuse allegations made against Berry.
The decision allows the minor child to testify specifically on the matter of a restraining order.
Martinez, Berry's ex-husband, had requested that their son be permitted to address the court, stating it would be in Maceo's best interest for his voice to be heard concerning the events of September 26. He asserted that he is the parent seeking the truth and does not wish to suppress Maceo's testimony.
Martinez also sought to prevent Berry's daughter from Nahla Aubry, from a previous relationship, from testifying. He argued that Aubry is biased and that her testimony is not appropriate for litigation that does not directly involve her.
Last month, Martinez filed a temporary restraining order against Berry, accusing her of physically assaulting their son. According to the filing, Berry allegedly jumped on Maceo and choked him.
Berry has denied these allegations.
Following these accusations, Martinez was granted primary custody of Maceo, with Berry's visitation limited to two days a week and every other weekend. Berry and Martinez were married from 2013 to 2016.
