Halle Berry appeared in a Los Angeles court on Monday, marking the second week of her custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez. Berry, accompanied by her fiancé Van Hunt, was seen arriving at the courthouse dressed in a long black coat, black button-down shirt, gray slacks, and black sandals. Hunt wore a navy blue suit and tan button-up shirt in support of Berry.

Mason, 13, has been at the center of a dispute following Martinez's accusation that Berry physically abused their son in September. Martinez obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Berry, which she has denied. In a legal filing reviewed by the Daily Mail, Berry claimed Martinez has interfered with Maceo's schooling and therapy, obstructing interventions and undermining her efforts with the teen.

Last week, Hunt testified in court as part of Berry's legal team, having been present during the incident involving Berry and Maceo. Martinez's legal team initially sought to have Maceo testify remotely as a rebuttal witness, but the court ruled that any in-person testimony would need to be given in person. Hunt was reportedly seen leaving the court appearing relieved after his testimony. Martinez and his legal team departed the courtroom shortly after.

Berry's daughter, Nahla Aubry, 18, was scheduled to testify remotely during Monday's hearing. In her court filings, Berry requested sole legal custody over matters concerning Maceo's education, healthcare, and mental health treatment, seeking to extend her tie-breaking authority indefinitely to implement necessary interventions without delay. She stated that Maceo's behavioral issues at school have escalated since the restraining order, with school administrators noting increased oppositional behavior, disruption, and disrespect toward peers and authority figures.

Berry has asked the court to order both parties to communicate exclusively via the Our Family Wizard co-parenting app, limiting communication to one non-emergency message per day. Berry and Martinez were married from 2013 to 2015, with their divorce finalized in 2023.
