Kyle Castile, a prominent hairdresser, recently experienced a surprising turn of events when a woman he described as having made his childhood "hell" contacted him to book a hair appointment. Castile had spent years cultivating the career he says he was once ridiculed for pursuing.
The exchange began with a seemingly friendly message from the woman, who asked Castile to "squeeze her in sometime soon," expressing pride in his success and a desire to support him as an "old friend."
However, Castile, after noting his waiting list extended to March 2027, addressed their shared history. He stated that the woman had not been kind to him in the past and had, in his words, "made my life hell." The woman, in response, dismissed their past as "stupid stuff when we were kids" and urged him to "let it go."
Castile declined the appointment, explaining respectfully that while he believed she may have grown and changed, the experience was genuinely difficult for him. He described being isolated, called names, and carrying the weight of that period for years. He emphasized his desire to move forward and not dwell on the past.
Following his refusal, the woman's tone shifted dramatically. She accused Castile of thinking he was "better than" her and insulted his online content, calling it "cringe as f**k." She also made derogatory remarks about his sexuality and masculinity. Castile later shared the interaction on Instagram, reflecting on how the woman and others once occupied a significant portion of his thoughts.
He explained that the bullying he endured fueled his determination to build a life where such individuals would no longer hold power over him. "Now things are happening for me, now I'm truly breaking through, now I'm thriving - she wants to reconnect in a totally different capacity," he stated.
Later, Castile claimed that the woman's boyfriend contacted him, allegedly threatening him and demanding he remove his social media post about the encounter. Castile refused, asserting his right to make his own decisions and not be intimidated.
Castile has stated that he received considerable support from people who resonated with his decision to keep his past a firmly closed chapter. His career, which he says he was once mocked for wanting to pursue, now boasts a waiting list stretching into 2027. He concluded that while leaving the past behind is important, it does not necessitate allowing those who caused past harm back into his present life.
