Hailey Bieber has brought back the zig-zag headband, a hair accessory once ubiquitous in middle school hallways and now commanding a $525 price tag. Bieber, founder of Rhode, was recently photographed wearing the black plastic accessory at the FIFA World Cup final held at MetLife Stadium. She shared the look on her Instagram Stories, pairing it with a black tank top and capris.

This resurgence of the style was further amplified when Miu Miu unveiled its fall 2026 campaign on Thursday, featuring Bieber in the brand's elevated interpretation of the comb headband. Crafted from metal and black calfskin, the luxury version features the Miu Miu logo at the temple.

Miuccia Prada, the creative force behind Miu Miu, reintroduced the headband silhouette on the runway during her fall 2026 show in March. Models including Chloë Sevigny, Gillian Anderson, and Gemma Ward sported the accessory on the catwalk.

The zig-zag headband reached its peak in popular culture around 2002, notably seen in the film "Bend It Like Beckham" where Keira Knightley's character, Jules Paxton, wore the style. Soccer star David Beckham was also a fan, frequently photographed in similar headbands.

Bieber's appearance at the World Cup final was in support of her husband, Justin Bieber, who performed during the halftime show. The couple later attended an after-party celebrating Spain's victory, where Hailey Bieber wore a vintage John Galliano for Dior slip dress, another nod to early 2000s fashion. Her recent Gap denim capsule collection, released last week and cut in '90s proportions, also tapped into this nostalgic trend and reportedly sold out rapidly.

The Miu Miu campaign marks a reunion for Bieber with the brand, as she previously starred in its spring 2022 advertisements alongside Emma Corrin and Ever Anderson.
