H&M Launches Major Collaboration with Designer Elie Saab
The Swedish fast-fashion retailer has partnered with the renowned Lebanese couturier for a 55-piece occasion wear collection.
H&M has released a highly anticipated 55-piece occasion wear collaboration with Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab. The collection, which includes a range of embellished garments, marks a significant partnership for the Swedish retailer.
Elie Saab, who founded his atelier in Beirut in 1982, has become known for his red-carpet-worthy designs. His off-the-rack pieces typically start in the thousands, with custom haute couture gowns reaching upwards of $100,000. A-list celebrities such as Halle Berry, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, and Jennifer Lopez have worn his creations, and Queen Rania of Jordan is also a noted client.
This collaboration follows H&M's previous successful partnerships with designers like Stella McCartney, Simone Rocha, and Mugler, which have offered luxury fashion at more accessible price points. According to fashion editor Hannah Skelley, who reviewed the collection, this latest offering might be one of H&M's best.
The collection features a variety of statement pieces, including a voluminous faux fur bolero jacket with rhinestone embellishments, priced at $189.99, and a matching skirt for $74.99. Another notable item is a shimmering rhinestone column skirt, designed to be paired with various footwear options and a simple top.
Sequins and embellishments are prominent throughout the collection. A forest green beaded bandeau top with a flattering corset effect, priced at $139.99, is paired with matching shiny trousers, also $139.99. The designer's signature sequin variations allow for layering without appearing overdone.
A hotfix rhinestone, ombre, bronze, and black bodysuit ($74.99) with adjustable poppers in the gusset is noted for its generous length, accommodating taller frames. For those preferring less sparkle, plain black wool trousers with a tie waist belt are available for $119.99, designed to fit snugly and suitable for both office wear and formal occasions.
A leather oversized bomber jacket, priced at $379.99, and a matching pencil skirt for $259.99 offer a more subdued yet powerful style. The ensemble features a gradient effect from brown to black. The collection also includes a classic white tuxedo bibbed shirt with a removable pussy bow for $84.99, and an overlay pencil skirt with black beaded clusters for $119.99. High-heeled platforms are also featured in the collection.
The full 55-piece collection is now available.
