Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Partner Dies in Louisiana, No Foul Play Suspected

Kenan Urker, the partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has died in Raceland, Louisiana, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office. Authorities responded to a call at a home on Thursday evening and found Urker, 34, deceased. As of Friday, the sheriff's office stated there is no evidence of foul play in his death and that the investigation is ongoing.

Blanchard, who gained public attention following her role in her mother's murder and her subsequent release from prison in 2023, posted a tribute to Urker on social media. "You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever," she wrote on Instagram, also referring to him as her "soulmate" and an "amazing father" in an Instagram story.

In 2015, Blanchard and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, were arrested for the murder of Blanchard's mother, Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blanchard. Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Her mother had allegedly subjected her to years of abuse, convincing both Gypsy Rose and the public that she was suffering from numerous serious illnesses, leading to unnecessary medical treatments and a life confined to a wheelchair.

Following her release from prison in December 2023, Blanchard told ABC News that she intended to use her platform to raise awareness about mental health issues, Munchausen by proxy, and abuse victims. She expressed a hope that her story would serve as a cautionary tale to prevent others from facing similar circumstances.
