Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Fiancé Threatened Suicide Before Death, 911 Call Reveals
Ken Urker's sister-in-law reported his threats and ownership of a gun to dispatchers before he was found unresponsive.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's fiancé, Ken Urker, threatened suicide shortly before he was found dead at his Louisiana home. According to a 911 dispatch transcript obtained by Page Six, Urker's sister-in-law, Anita Blanchard, requested a wellness check on him after his boss, Justin Daigle, reported he had failed to show up for work.
Anita informed the dispatcher that Urker was in a "dark place," had "made threats to commit suicide," and "does own a gun." She expressed her belief that he may have killed himself. The call log indicated that Urker had also been drinking the previous night.
According to an incident report from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Anita and her husband, Dylan Blanchard (Gypsy Rose's half-brother), had been with Urker the day before. They stated that Urker had made comments about being depressed and upset when he attended church with them on Wednesday evening. They also noted that he went live on TikTok around 11 p.m., during which he only showed himself driving without speaking.
Concerned by Urker's behavior, his absence from work, and his unresponsiveness to calls and texts, Dylan, Anita, and Daigle went to Urker's home in Raceland. Dylan discovered that Urker's bedroom window was unlocked and, through it, they saw Urker lying on his bed, unconscious. When Urker did not respond to their calls, they entered the home through the window. Daigle reported touching Urker and finding him cold and not breathing, prompting them to call 911.
