Gypsy Rose Blanchard Responds to Ex-Fiancé's Sister's Allegations After His Death

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has publicly addressed allegations made by Autumn Urker, the sister of her deceased ex-fiancé Ken Urker. Autumn Urker had publicly criticized Blanchard following Ken Urker's death at age 34, claiming Blanchard's statements were untrue and that she had not spoken to his family.

In a statement provided to Us Weekly, Blanchard acknowledged the strained relationship with Autumn. "It is no secret that Autumn did not approve of Ken’s relationship with me, and there has been significant tension between us, including public comments she made about me in the months leading up to his passing," Blanchard said. She also stated that the focus surrounding Ken's passing should not be on negativity or disagreements between them.

Blanchard disputed Autumn's assertion that she had not communicated with Ken Urker's family. "I remain in communication with Ken’s family, and aside from my relationship with Autumn, those communications have been positive and respectful during an incredibly painful time," she stated.

Adding to the public exchange, Blanchard made her own allegations against Autumn. She claimed that Ken Urker told her in their final phone conversation on September 28 that his sister had threatened to "go harder" publicly and contribute to the negative scrutiny he was already facing. Blanchard added that Urker was "deeply distressed" by the conflict between Blanchard and his sister.

Ken Urker died on his birthday. According to initial reports, he was found unresponsive at a Louisiana home after Blanchard texted him for his birthday. Autumn Urker, however, contested this account in an interview with The US Sun, accusing Blanchard of lying about the circumstances of his death.

Autumn also claimed that Blanchard had been misrepresenting their relationship status, stating that Blanchard had told others they were "engaged and planning baby number two," which Autumn asserted was false. In her own interview with the Daily Mail, Autumn claimed her brother told her he was "terrified" of Blanchard and that she had "humiliated" him. She also described Blanchard as someone who "loved all the attention at the expense of everybody around her."

Blanchard had previously told TMZ that Urker died from an overdose. Page Six had reported that Urker and Blanchard had quietly split a month before his death. Police found drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun at the scene of his death.

Blanchard and Urker had a relationship on and off since 2017, when he first wrote to her while she was incarcerated for her role in her mother's murder. The couple shared a one-year-old daughter named Aurora.

Following Urker's death, Blanchard has also been advocating for "Kenan's Law," an online harassment petition aimed at changing how social media platforms handle reports of harassment. She stated on Instagram that Urker experienced "an overwhelming amount of online scrutiny and what we believed crossed the line into targeted harassment and cyberbullying" before his passing. She expressed a desire to advocate for a better system for those experiencing similar issues, writing, "I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening."
