Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Believes Ex-Fiancé Ken Urker Died of Overdose
Blanchard stated her on-off fiancé Ken Urker, who died on his 34th birthday, was not in a good state of mind and had been cyberbullied.
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard believes her on-off fiancé Ken Urker died from an overdose on his 34th birthday, Oct. 1. Urker was discovered unresponsive at his Raceland, Louisiana, home on the day he was celebrating his birthday.
"I don’t know if it was intentional or not. He was not in a good state of mind lately," Blanchard told People. "I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I’ve screamed until my throat burns."
Blanchard and Urker shared a 21-month-old daughter, Aurora. According to TMZ, Blanchard's brother, Dylan, found Urker at his home. Dylan and his wife had planned to have dinner with Urker to celebrate his birthday.
In a statement to TMZ, Blanchard said Urker was "relentlessly cyberbullied" before his death, stating that the online harassment had a "profound impact" on him. She noted that she had texted Urker on his birthday but received no reply.
"Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved," Blanchard said. "He would forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase." She vowed to ensure their daughter knows how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers online said about him.
Urker's sister, Autumn, confirmed his death on TikTok, sharing that his final words to her were, "I love you."
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed to TMZ that deputies responded to a call at a Raceland residence at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 1, where Kenan Urker, 34, was found dead. The office stated that it is continuing its death investigation.
Blanchard's relationship with Urker began while she was serving a prison sentence for her role in the 2015 murder of her abusive mother, Claudine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard. She was released in December 2022 after serving nearly 10 years. Blanchard and Urker, who became engaged in 2018, had an on-off relationship before reuniting in April 2024. Blanchard announced in July 2024 that she and Urker were expecting a child.
