Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker Split Amicably Before His Death

Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker ended their relationship approximately one month before Urker's death on his 34th birthday. A source close to the couple told Page Six that Blanchard and Urker had been living apart for about two months before their official breakup, which they described as amicable and a mutual agreement.

The source added that the pair were co-parenting their newborn daughter, Aurora, born in December 2024. Under their agreement, Blanchard was to care for Aurora on weekdays, with Urker having visitation every other weekend. The source characterized their co-parenting arrangement as "totally normal."

The split reportedly occurred due to Urker's mental health struggles. "She missed him. She wanted him back, obviously, and he just wasn’t in the right frame of mind," the insider said. "His mentality of mental health wasn’t good for the past few months."

Despite the breakup, Blanchard and Urker reportedly remained in contact, checking in on Aurora every few days and communicating via FaceTime. A source recalled speaking with Urker about two weeks prior to his death, checking in on him during this difficult time.

Urker was found dead on Thursday at his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday. Police stated that no evidence of foul play was found and that the death investigation is ongoing. A police report obtained by Page Six indicated that Urker was found with drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

Blanchard stated in a message to People that Urker died of a suspected overdose. She expressed disbelief and referred to him as her "soulmate" and "red string," adding that their connection could not be erased by time, distance, or death. She also noted that Urker had faced significant online bullying.
