Gypsy Rose Blanchard Accused of Sideswiping Vehicle in Louisiana

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 35, was accused of sideswiping a vehicle in Louisiana approximately two weeks after the death of her ex-fiance, Ken Urker. The incident, which resulted in minor property damage and no reported injuries, was investigated by Louisiana State Police troopers in Terrebonne Parish on October 17.

A Facebook user posted about the alleged collision, stating that Blanchard nearly pushed their car into a Walgreens flowerbed. The user also shared what appeared to be a copy of the collision report.

A source told TMZ that the accident occurred at an intersection and that sun glare was a contributing factor. The source also stated that Blanchard had valid proof of car insurance. Authorities confirmed that no arrests were made following the incident.

Urker, the father of Blanchard's daughter Aurora, was found dead in his Louisiana home on October 1, his 34th birthday. Deputies responding to the scene found drug paraphernalia and a handgun next to him. According to reports, syringes and a spoon with a brown powdery substance were also found in the bathroom.

Blanchard stated to People that Urker had not been in a good state of mind recently and had been drinking to cope. She reportedly sent him a birthday text on October 1 but did not receive a response.

Blanchard and Urker first connected as pen pals while she was incarcerated and became engaged in October 2018. They called off their engagement in August 2019, had a brief reunion, and then broke up again. Blanchard and Urker welcomed their daughter in December 2024 and maintained an on-and-off relationship.

Urker's sister has claimed they were not together at the time of his death.

Blanchard, who was convicted of plotting her mother's murder and served eight years in prison before being paroled in December 2023, recently spoke about Urker's death. She described him as an "amazing father and a man who was deeply loved," and stated he would forever be her soulmate. She also emphasized his love for their daughter, Aurora.

Urker's death has prompted Blanchard to advocate against cyberbullying, which she believes contributed to the mental strain he endured. She is proposing legislation named 'Kenan's Law' in his honor, aiming to create a better system for individuals who feel unheard.
