Gunman Sought in Fatal Jewelry Heist Shooting Outside Queens Strip Club
New surveillance images released by the NYPD show the suspect in the early morning robbery and shooting that killed a 49-year-old man.
Authorities are searching for a masked gunman suspected of fatally shooting a man during a botched jewelry robbery outside the Riviera Gentleman’s Club in Astoria, Queens. New surveillance images released Friday show the suspect, described as hooded and masked.
The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the club located on Steinway Street and 35th Avenue. The victim, identified as 49-year-old Hector Figuereo of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, was approached from behind by the assailant.
According to law enforcement sources, the gunman attempted to steal Figuereo's jewelry before firing shots and striking him in the back. Figuereo was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
One of the newly released images captures the moment the shooting occurred. Other photos show the suspect in different poses and a white SUV believed to be his getaway vehicle, which fled northbound on 37th Street.
