Twin Falls police responded Saturday to an active shooter situation in a parking lot near an In-N-Out Burger, as chaotic footage circulated showing individuals firing a rifle and prompting mass panic.
Cellphone video captured a man standing between two parked vehicles before aiming what appeared to be an AR-style assault rifle toward the driver's side window of another car. Two shots were heard in quick succession, accompanied by a visible muzzle flash. The individual then lowered the weapon and fled the scene on foot, still carrying the firearm.
Another video appears to show a second individual in the drive-thru lane drawing a long gun from a white sedan. In the footage, people in the parking lot can be seen running across the street.
The Twin Falls Police Department confirmed their response to the incident, which occurred along Blue Lakes Boulevard. Authorities temporarily shut down the Perrine Bridge and surrounding roads. Nearby businesses were placed on lockdown as law enforcement searched the area, including a hotel overlooking the visitor center, for the shooter.
No information regarding casualties or arrests had been released by authorities as of Saturday evening. Police urged the public to avoid the area. This is a developing story.
