Guillermo Rodriguez Eliminated in First-Ever 'Super Bowl Night' on 'Dancing With the Stars'
Rodriguez and partner Witney Carson were sent home after their Salsa performance.
The first-ever "Super Bowl Night" on "Dancing With the Stars" concluded with the elimination of fan-favorite duo Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson. The pair received a combined score of 22 out of 40 from the judges, placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Rodriguez, known for his role on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," and his professional partner Carson performed a Salsa to Bad Bunny's "Tití Me Preguntó." Despite their efforts, the score was not enough to keep them in the competition.
"I had a lot of fun. It was great," Rodriguez said after his elimination. "Witney, I love you for teaching me how to dance." Carson expressed gratitude to Rodriguez for making the season enjoyable and for looking out for her and her unborn baby.
Another couple, Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, also found themselves in jeopardy but were saved from elimination, securing their spot for another week.
The "Super Bowl Night" theme saw contestants and their partners perform routines inspired by the music, spectacle, and iconic moments of the Super Bowl. The episode also featured a cameo from "Jane the Virgin" alum Justin Baldoni and his family, serving as a preview for Super Bowl LXI, which is set to air on ABC and ESPN in February 2027.
Earlier in the night, "The Traitors" alum Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas opened the show with a Tango to Rihanna's "Only Girl (In the World)," earning a score of 33 out of 40. "Bachelor Nation" star Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess performed a Jazz routine to Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)," receiving a 30 out of 40. Judges praised Cameron for channeling iconic dancers and performers.
Other performances included Jackson Olson and Emma Slater dancing a Salsa to Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk," scoring 31/40. Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov performed a Samba to J Balvin & Willy William's "Mi Gente," garnering 34/40. Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold's Samba to Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" earned 25/40, while Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa's Jazz routine to Jennifer Lopez's "Jenny From the Block [Track Masters Remix]" received 33/40.
Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik performed a Salsa to Kendrick Lamar's "Squabble Up" for a score of 29/40. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a Paso Doble to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," scoring 36/40. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson performed a Samba to Usher's "Yeah!" earning 33/40, despite a judge's critique regarding a lift. The night concluded with Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach performing a Salsa to Nelly's "Hot in Herre," receiving a high score of 36/40.
This season has already seen several notable eliminations, including Taylor Hanson and Ciara Miller, as well as Conner Leavitt, Sarah Jane Nader, and Giada De Laurentiis earlier in the competition.
