Guardiola to Attend Man City's First Home Game Since Financial Charges Verdict
Former manager Pep Guardiola will be present at the Etihad Stadium for the Champions League tie against Paris St-Germain.
Pep Guardiola is slated to attend Manchester City's Champions League match against Paris St-Germain next week, marking the club's first home fixture since being found guilty of most of the 115 charges leveled against them by the Premier League. This appearance will be Guardiola's first at the Etihad Stadium since concluding his decade-long tenure as manager at the end of the previous season.
Earlier this month, an independent commission determined the club had violated Premier League financial regulations across several seasons between 2009-10 and 2017-18. Manchester City has maintained its innocence and has filed an appeal against the commission's findings, which indicated the club had artificially inflated commercial revenues by approximately $830 million through non-genuine contracts.
Following the verdict, Guardiola expressed his continued support for City's ownership and leadership, stating he would "always" stand by the club. He conveyed this sentiment on social media, posting, "I want every single Manchester City fan across the world to know I am here; more than ever." He further added, "I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran [Soriano], the players, staff, Enzo [Maresca] and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all."
