Guardians and Rays Kick Off ALCS with Game 1 Tonight
The series opener between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays is set for 8 p.m. ET on TBS, with options to stream for free.
The American League Championship Series begins tonight, October 12, with Game 1 featuring the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TBS.
For fans without cable, the game can be streamed for free through a five-day trial offered by DIRECTV. The DIRECTV Choice package, which includes more than 125 channels, is recommended for access to the broadcast.
This series marks a postseason rematch between the two franchises, who previously met in the 2013 and 2022 Wild Card Games, splitting those contests. The Rays enter Game 1 as moneyline favorites at -170, having not played since October 7, when they completed a sweep of the New York Yankees.
The Guardians, meanwhile, are on a high after winning the last three of five games against the Chicago White Sox. They will start Foster Griffin (15-6, 3.61 ERA), acquired mid-season, while the Rays will counter with ace Drew Rasmussen (16-5, 2.67 ERA).
