Climate activist Greta Thunberg was recognized while attending a charity concert in Belfast featuring the artists Kneecap and Bob Vylan. Thunberg, 23, arrived at the gig at Falls Park sporting Kneecap's signature tricolour balaclava and a keffiyeh.

She participated in the performances by the two pro-Palestine headliners, dancing and clapping along. Later, she was photographed leaving the venue with the balaclava in her hand, though the keffiyeh remained around her neck.

The concert was part of the Féile an Phobail arts festival in west Belfast, with proceeds benefiting Irish language organizations such as Belfast's Glór na Móna and Londonderry's Seán Dolan's. Bob Vylan performed immediately before Kneecap.

Last year, Bob Vylan drew attention at Glastonbury for leading a chant that was later criticized, leading the band to announce plans to sue the BBC for labeling their comments as unacceptable. The BBC had to apologize for airing the event live.

Kneecap, a rap trio composed of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, also performed. Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, a member of Kneecap, had previously faced charges under terrorism legislation for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag. The case was dismissed due to a technicality concerning the authorization of the charge within the six-month legal timeframe.

Both Kneecap and Bob Vylan have been vocal supporters of the Palestinian cause. Thunberg has also become increasingly involved in advocating for Palestinians, attending protests and speaking out in support of activists. She was previously detained by Israeli forces while on a flotilla heading to Gaza.
