Gregory Harrison, the actor known for his prominent roles in '80s and '90s television, recently made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles, engaging in a round of golf.
The 76-year-old, who gained recognition for portraying Dr. George Alonzo 'Gonzo' Gates on the medical drama "Trapper John, M.D." and the business tycoon Michael Sharpe on "Falcon Crest," was observed enjoying the warm weather on the golf course. Harrison also had a nearly four-year tenure on "General Hospital" before his character's departure in 2024.
Born on Catalina Island, California, Harrison served in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1971. He later pursued acting in Los Angeles, making his television debut with a guest appearance on "MAS*H" before starring in its spinoff, "Trapper John, M.D." The series, which aired from 1979 to 1986, featured Harrison alongside Pernell Roberts.
His performance as Michael Sharpe in "Falcon Crest" earned him a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Villain: Prime Time in 1991. Prior to "Trapper John, M.D.," Harrison appeared in "Logan's Run" from 1977 to 1978 and made an appearance in "Galaxy Beat" in 1994.
Beyond his primetime television work, Harrison has also engaged in theater, appearing in Broadway productions such as the touring version of "Chicago" and the Broadway revival of "Follies."
For his recent outing, Harrison was dressed casually in a blue T-shirt, khaki shorts, and sandals, complemented by a blue trucker cap and headphones. He sported a mustache and goatee, with his silver hair tucked under his cap.
Harrison has been married to actress Randi Oakes since 1981. They met during a 1979 episode of "Battle of the Network Stars." The couple shares three daughters—Emma Lee, Lily Anne, and Kate Harrison—and an adopted son, Quinn Edgar.
Oakes, who starred in "CHiPs" in the late 1970s, retired from acting after the birth of their first child in 1985. Harrison's daughter, Kate Harrison, is married to actress Chloe Grace Moretz's partner.
