Gregg Wallace, 61, has announced that he is set to become a grandfather for the first time. He shared an ultrasound image on Instagram, revealing that his granddaughter is due soon.

Wallace has three children: Tom, 32, and Libby, 29, from his second marriage, and seven-year-old Sid with his current wife, Anne-Marie Sterpini. He has not specified which of his older children is expecting the baby. His previous marriage ended in 2004 when his former partner discovered he was having an affair.

This personal news follows a challenging year for Wallace. He was dismissed from his role on MasterChef by the BBC in November 2024 after an investigation into 83 historical allegations of workplace misconduct, 45 of which were upheld. The substantiated allegations primarily concerned inappropriate sexual language and humor, with a smaller number related to other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress. Wallace issued an apology for any distress caused.

Following his dismissal, Wallace attempted to sue the BBC for up to £10,000 in damages, alleging they failed to disclose his personal data and caused him distress. He dropped this claim in February. Wallace has since stated that his lawyers believe the BBC's actions, particularly their invitation for the public to come forward with complaints over a 20-year period, may have infringed his human rights.

He has publicly questioned the investigation process, asserting in a January Substack post that it was not a legal proceeding and that the standard of proof would not hold up in court. Wallace argued that an "open invitation" to complain from anyone who had ever met him was excessive, given his career interactions with tens of thousands of people.

Wallace co-hosted MasterChef with John Torode for nearly two decades. Since leaving the show, he has been generating income through personalized video messages on the platform Cameo.
