Gregg Wallace Apologizes to Fans Over Fitness Coaching

Gregg Wallace has issued an apology to customers who subscribed to his online fitness coaching classes, GreggWallace.Health, after it emerged that he was no longer personally delivering the promised coaching sessions. The former MasterChef host, who faced dismissal from the BBC last July due to allegations of 'inappropriate sexual language and humour,' had been promoting his online business as a way for clients to achieve significant wellness improvements.

Wallace, 61, had been running the online coaching for five years but relaunched the business last summer with a renewed marketing push. He assured potential subscribers that he would personally train clients, implying they could replicate his own substantial weight loss and fitness transformation. The service offered weekly hour-long group coaching sessions hosted by Wallace and access to a private WhatsApp group for a monthly fee of up to £150.

However, customers have reported significant disappointment, with numerous one-star reviews appearing on platforms like Tripadvisor. Complainants cite a lack of response from Wallace or his team despite ongoing subscription payments. One customer stated, "It just seems like a rip-off. I think he's given up on it or lost interest. I feel really let down, he's just ghosted me. I haven't heard a word from anybody since they took my money."

Another unsatisfied client wrote, "Despite numerous efforts to contact via email, Facebook messenger and the website I have yet to have a response with regard to the cancellation of my membership which automatically renewed. Very disappointed in the total lack of communication. Quick to take the money but slow to respond."

When approached by The Daily Mail last month, the publication's reporter attempted to book introductory coaching sessions with Wallace. While calendar invites were reportedly sent, Wallace did not attend these sessions and provided no explanation. Repeated attempts to contact customer service via email and Facebook also went unanswered, and the reporter was not added to the promised WhatsApp group.

Financial records for the parent company, showme.fit, of which Wallace is the sole director, indicate total assets of £168,000, including £98,000 in cash. Company filings list three staff members, believed to include Wallace and his wife, Anna. However, the GreggWallace.Health website lists 11 staff.

The business's social media presence has also appeared neglected, with Facebook and Instagram pages for GreggWallace.Health last updated in January. The main profile picture on these platforms reportedly still showed Wallace wearing a Christmas hat.

This situation contrasts sharply with Wallace's promotional efforts last June. In an Instagram video, he encouraged people not to accept aging passively, stating, "You can be leaner, fitter, healthier, [and] have more energy." He detailed his own journey, claiming to be "healthier at 60 than I was at 30," and offered to coach individuals over 50 to improve their confidence and well-being. He also promoted his website for healthy recipes, describing them as solutions for "busy people" and highlighting the availability of "hundreds and hundreds of really healthy meals that only take minutes to make."

Wallace is also in the process of selling his £1 million home in Kent, where he resides with Anna and their son, Sid, to relocate to Yorkshire.

Following inquiries from The Daily Mail, a spokesperson for GreggWallace.Health acknowledged the issue. "I would like to apologise that this [1-2-1 coaching with Gregg] was still available as an option to purchase on the website," the spokesperson said. "This should have been removed as we no longer offer this service on GreggWallace.Health." The profile picture on social media was subsequently updated.
