Radio host Greg James has shared his thoughts on destination weddings after attending the recent nuptials of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, an event he described as "unbelievably brilliant."

James, host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, received an invitation to the ceremony, which took place at Madison Square Garden and was attended by approximately 1,000 guests. He attended with his wife, Bella Mackie.

He recounted the experience on Instagram, noting the challenges of arriving on the wedding day, particularly with his attire. "Certainly a rush landing on the day of it. Certainly too hot for a velvet tux," he wrote. He also humorously described the traffic delays, stating that his wife had time for a restroom break while the car moved only a few meters.

Despite the logistical hurdles, James expressed his enjoyment of the event. He also shared a brief behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for the wedding and his arrival at the venue.

James also touched on the star-studded guest list, which included numerous celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Steven Spielberg, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z. He humorously contrasted his attendance with that of Leonardo DiCaprio, who was present at a World Cup match James also attended later that week, remarking, "Leo was one of only a handful of A-listers not at Taylor's wedding."

James secured his invitation months in advance when Swift, whom he had interviewed previously, jokingly told him on his show that he would be invited. He kept the invitation a secret, even feigning attendance at a podcast recording in Sheffield to cover his travel to New York.

Following the wedding, James shared a photo of pizza the morning after, indicating he was recovering from the event and overwhelmed by messages. He confirmed that the invitation arrived as promised and that it was a memorable night. He brought his wife Bella Mackie to celebrate alongside 1,000 other guests at Madison Square Garden

The wedding, billed as the "wedding of the century," saw Swift and Kelce share the news via video advertisements at the venue. Notable attendees also included Blake Lively's absence, which some speculated hinted at a rift, while Karlie Kloss's presence suggested a potential mending of her relationship with Swift.
