BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James has shared his experience attending the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, describing the event as an "epic" occasion at Madison Square Garden. James, who received his invitation in mid-March, kept the details secret for months, only confiding in his wife, Bella Mackie, who also attended.

James recounted the challenge of maintaining secrecy, noting that the only other guest he could openly discuss the wedding with was Graham Norton. The two coincidentally appeared on "This Morning" after receiving their invitations and held a whispered conversation in the dressing room. They later arranged a "secret, under the cover of darkness dinner" with their spouses, which James humorously compared to a meeting on "The Traitors."

At the wedding, James said he gravitated towards other British guests, including Hugh Grant and his wife. He described the event as surreal, likening it to interacting with animated wax figures at Madame Tussauds, given the presence of numerous famous individuals. James also addressed rumors about a champagne shortage, stating that "the food was plentiful and delicious there was lots of everything," and that "the first 10,000 drinks" were readily available.

Contrary to speculation about watermarked invitations, James confirmed that all communication regarding the wedding was electronic. He recalled Taylor Swift extending the invitation to him live on his radio show in October, but the official invite did not arrive until March 12, the night before he began a Comic Relief cycle challenge. He described receiving the link to the invitation while dealing with a "really upset stomach" in a Weymouth hotel during a storm, admitting he wanted to share the news but resisted to avoid spoiling the surprise.

James also acknowledged a moment of doubt before entering the venue, admitting that he and his wife wondered if it could be a "scam" until they were actually inside. He had previously told his listeners he was in Sheffield for a podcast festival, a white lie to cover his travel to the New York City wedding. He later posted on Instagram, confirming his attendance and describing it as an "unbelievably brilliant night."
