Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been charged with two misdemeanors related to an alleged physical altercation with his girlfriend in May. The Brown County District Attorney's Office announced the charges on Thursday, which include one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

Prosecutors stated that the dispute began on May 23 at Jacobs' home in Brown County, Wisconsin, after the woman accused the NFL player of "talking to other girls." According to a court filing, the woman threw Jacobs' phone in response to his alleged behavior. Jacobs then reportedly took her phone and refused to return it, leading to a physical struggle that lasted several minutes.

Jacobs left the residence in a vehicle with the woman's phone, and she followed him in a separate car. They eventually returned to Jacobs' home, where the altercation continued. The court filing indicates that in the bedroom, Jacobs paced while the woman retrieved a second phone. He allegedly called her a derogatory name and made a statement to the effect that he would "do something to her."

As the woman attempted to leave the home, Jacobs allegedly grabbed her and threw her to the ground, causing her to strike her head and sustain an injury.

Jacobs was initially arrested on May 26 in connection with the allegations. However, prosecutors at that time opted not to file charges as they sought additional evidence. The district attorney's office stated that a criminal complaint is a formal accusation and does not imply guilt, adding that Jacobs is presumed innocent. The office declined further comment on the ongoing case.

Jacobs, a former Pro Bowler, joined the Packers as a running back after previously playing for the Las Vegas Raiders.
