The great-grandmother of Sophia Cover, a 16-year-old missing from Florida, has made an emotional plea for her return. The teenager disappeared from her home in Golden Gate Estates on July 31 without explanation.

"Sophia! This is grandma," she said in a video posted to Facebook by Sophia's father. "I love you. I love you. I love you. It’s time you come home! I want to see you again! I’m waiting for you, Sophia. I love you. I love you. I love you!"

Surveillance footage showed Cover walking out of her Florida home around 12:45 a.m. Her father, Richard Cover, has initiated a search effort both online and within the community, seeking any information about her whereabouts.

"Everybody is looking for you. And, if you’re out there on your own, it’s really easy to come home. You can go to any police officer. You can go to any adult that is safe," he stated.

Authorities describe Sophia as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds, with brown eyes and long brown hair. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information to contact them at 239-252-9300.
