A 74-year-old grandfather, Graham Brougham, has admitted to sexually abusing a woman who was drugged and raped by her husband. Brougham pleaded guilty to one charge of rape at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. This plea occurred as he was scheduled to go on trial with 10 other men facing various allegations concerning the same victim.

Brougham is the oldest of 14 men accused of sexual offenses against the woman at her home in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester. The victim was present in the public gallery when Brougham entered his guilty plea.

The woman's husband previously pleaded guilty to 62 offenses against her between October 2004 and November 2025, including rape, sexual assault, and administering a noxious substance. Two other men, Keith Fotheringham, 59, and Sean Peers, 38, have also admitted to various sexual offenses against her.

Ten other men are scheduled to stand trial, having denied charges of abusing the same woman between January 2015 and November 2025. The husband, Brougham, Fotheringham, and Peers are due to be sentenced at the conclusion of the trial for the remaining defendants.

Judge Maurice Green granted Brougham bail until sentencing but cautioned him, stating, "You should be under no illusion, the sentence will be custody and a long time."

The trial for the remaining defendants, which has been delayed for legal and practical reasons, is now set to begin on November 2, with a pre-trial hearing on October 27. The 10 men facing trial range in age from 29 to 70 and include an ambulance paramedic, a former nightclub DJ, and an ex-football club chief executive.

Among those due to stand trial is ambulance paramedic Jonathan Kirk, 43, who denies charges of rape, conspiracy to rape, and conspiracy to commit assault by penetration. Former DJ Robert Stewart, 70, denies two counts of rape and one count of conspiracy to rape. The youngest defendant, Mohammed Sabir, 29, faces five counts, including rape and conspiracy charges, all of which he denies.

Alan Keelan, 42, an accounts clerk and junior football coach, denies rape, attempted rape, and conspiracy to rape. Taxi driver Philip Wild, 59, faces five charges, including attempted rape and conspiracy to rape, and has pleaded not guilty. Karl Lindsay, 56, former chief executive of Taunton Football Club, denies conspiracy to administer a substance with intent, conspiracy to rape, and conspiracy to sexually assault by penetration. Richard Townsend, 38, denies one count of conspiracy to commit assault by penetration and one count of assault by penetration. Daniel Rayner, 42, faces similar charges to Lindsay and has also pleaded not guilty. David Graves, 60, denies conspiracy to rape, conspiracy to commit assault by penetration, and conspiracy to commit sexual assault.

Apart from Jordan Wallace, Jonathan Kirk, Alan Keelan, and Sean Peers, who have been granted bail, all other defendants are in custody.
