Graham Platner’s principal campaign committee, Graham for Senate, spent over $10 million on consulting, media buys, advertising, and data acquisition between August 2025 and May 2026. However, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records do not show any direct payments to Morris Katz, a socialist strategist whose firm, Fight Agency, claims to have produced over 40 ads and a launch video for the campaign.

Fight Agency and its co-founder, Rebecca Katz, are also absent from individual FEC filings detailing the Platner campaign’s payroll. This comes despite Morris Katz recruiting Platner and his firm’s assertion that they created significant advertising content for the campaign. A representative for Fight Agency told Axios that the firm is a media company that produces advertisements and confirmed their work for the Platner campaign.

These advertisements were reportedly successful in boosting Platner's profile, leading to a 72% victory in the Democratic primary. According to FEC records, the campaign paid $10,177,696 to three primary entities: LC Media, which received nearly $5.8 million for media buys; Helix Campaigns, which took over $4 million for digital consulting and data acquisition; and Workers Productions, which was paid $334,000 for video production.

Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of Americans for Public Trust, suggested that campaigns may obscure consultant payments by routing them through payroll companies or employing firms rather than listing individual names. It remains unclear if any of the paid firms passed funds to Fight Agency employees.

Platner withdrew from the Maine Senate race on Wednesday, following allegations of rape from an ex-girlfriend, accusations of prior physical abuse, and the resurfacing of offensive comments he made on Reddit regarding veterans and sexual assault victims. His departure from the race led to the loss of support from national and state Democrats.

Ryan Aquilina, identified as the owner of Helix Campaigns, also served as a consultant for the Platner campaign. Campaign manager Ben Chin, deputy Eleni Neyland, and field director Spencer Toth are listed on the Platner campaign payroll in FEC filings.

Fight Agency has previously worked with other Democratic campaigns, including that of Zohran Mamdani for New York City mayor in 2025 and Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn. The firm is known for its populist messaging. Representatives for Fight Agency and the Platner campaign did not respond to requests for comment.
