GP Found Dead in Home Near Sandringham Estate; Man Arrested for Murder

A general practitioner, identified as Dr. Hannah Terry, was found dead in her home in Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday morning. The incident occurred while the property, located near the King's Sandringham estate, was hosting a children's sleepover. Police were alerted to the scene by ambulance services shortly after 2:20 a.m.

A man, also in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team are leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dr. Terry's death.

Dr. Terry, who was in her 40s, worked at the Grimston Medical Centre. The practice announced its temporary closure due to "extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team." Colleagues described her as a devoted mother of three and a valued member of the community. She had previously left a doctor's practice in Heacham last June, reportedly to spend more time with her young family.

Neighbors described the area as typically peaceful and expressed shock at the tragedy. Flowers have been left at the scene, where police tape and forensics officers were visible. The property is situated approximately one mile from Sandringham House.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is in its early stages and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to confirm the cause of death. Police have been granted an additional 12 hours to question the arrested suspect. Investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
