Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) has called for a re-evaluation of the citizenship status of every American naturalized since 1990, a proposal that came after he was pressed on whether the scrutiny applied to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) should extend to other prominent naturalized citizens.

During an interview with NewsNation, Fine stated, "I believe that we should go back to 1990, and we should reevaluate everyone who has become a naturalized citizen." He asserted that "many, many, many people" in Minnesota had obtained citizenship without proper documentation, suggesting Omar should be the first to undergo such a review.

When questioned if this re-evaluation should include former first lady Melania Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk, both of whom have faced questions regarding their immigration histories, Fine responded, "I think anyone who was not honest in their immigration paperwork. I don’t know anything about the circumstances of the first lady or Elon Musk. I don’t know that there’s ever been an allegation. But there have been allegations about Ilhan Omar’s citizenship issues going back 10 years, that people have refused to look at."

Fine added, "I believe that anyone who lied on their paperwork to become a citizen should be denaturalized and should be deported."

Omar's citizenship has been a subject of scrutiny for years, and her home was reportedly raided last week as the Justice Department investigates. The Minnesota Democrat has alleged that former President Donald Trump is targeting her, having previously called for her to be sent back to Somalia, where she was a refugee as a child.

Fine's comments about re-evaluating citizenship came as NewsNation noted that Melania Trump entered the U.S. on an EB-1A visa, often referred to as the "Einstein visa."
