Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., has predicted that American voters will reject far-left candidates in the upcoming midterm elections, characterizing their rise as a dangerous "politics of envy." Lawler stated his belief that the "goodness of America and the American people" will lead to a decisive defeat for these candidates in November.

Lawler's remarks echo concerns voiced by President Donald Trump during a recent address at Mount Rushmore. Trump warned of a "resurgence of the communist menace in our land" and stated he would not allow the nation to turn to communism, which he described as the "greatest threat to our country."

"As we approach this magnificent anniversary, we see our American identity under a renewed attack," Trump said. "A generation after we fought and won the Cold War against the menace of communism, there is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land."

House Speaker Mike Johnson has also shared similar warnings, calling the current moment "very serious" and asserting that communism is now "on our own shores." He noted that "Marxists have nominated some of the most radical candidates to ever run for office."

Lawler pointed to recent primary victories by Democratic socialist candidates, including in his home state of New York, as evidence of this growing trend. He argued that these victories, combined with sentiments he described as anti-American, are "desecrating" the vision of the Founding Fathers as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary. Despite these concerns, Lawler expressed optimism that political divides do not have to tear the country apart, emphasizing gratitude for living in the United States.
