Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., publicly criticized Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday, referencing a resurfaced post where Trump Jr. defended his father’s foreign policy regarding Iran.

In 2024, Donald Trump Jr. wrote, "Remember when they said Trump would get us into a full-blown war with Iran? Times like these should make us all realize how lucky we were to have Trump, his strength and his resolve." The post gained renewed attention as the United States continued airstrikes in Iran.

Massie responded to Trump Jr.'s post with a meme comparing the statement to his preference for raw milk, writing, "My raw milk ages better than this." The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that pasteurization is essential for milk safety.

Massie has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump's foreign policy, particularly regarding Iran. He has also advocated for the release of the Epstein files and criticized the war in Iran. In response to Massie's criticism, Trump endorsed Massie's primary opponent, and Massie subsequently lost his primary election.

Former President Trump has previously defended his administration's actions, stating on "Meet the Press" that he did not guarantee there would be no wars if he were elected. He argued that building the strongest military in the world was a demonstration of his commitment to national security, not a guarantee of avoiding conflict.

A Washington Post/Ipsos poll indicated that 69% of Americans disapprove of the Trump administration's handling of the war.
