President Donald Trump received a $250,000 bronze statue from Anthony Constantino, a Republican congressional hopeful in New York, the former president's latest financial disclosure reveals. The sculpture, titled "The Defiance Moment," depicts Trump with a raised fist following the 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Constantino, who secured Trump's endorsement to run for the seat vacated by retiring Rep. Elise Stefanik, won the Republican primary for the New York 21st Congressional District. He is expected to face Democrat Blake Gendebien in the general election. Republicans hold a slim majority in the House of Representatives, making Constantino's potential vote significant.
Constantino, CEO of Sticker Mule, commissioned the statue to commemorate what he described as an important moment in American history and his personal life, emphasizing Trump's resilience and a call to "fight, fight, fight" after being shot. He traveled to Florida in April 2025 to oversee the statue's installation at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, where it is displayed in front of the pro shop.
Sculptor George Lundeen, who collaborated with his brother Mark and Joey Bainer, reported that Trump requested a minor alteration to the statue, specifically a slightly redder tie. Lundeen and filmmaker Steven C. Barber, who identified himself as a monument commissioner for Trump, made the adjustment using a "special patina."
Lundeen, whose previous works include statues of astronauts Jack Swigert and Amelia Earhart displayed in the U.S. Capitol, also created smaller replicas of the Trump sculpture, priced around $7,500. Trump received one of these smaller versions, and another was reportedly seen on the desk of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Constantino purchased an identical full-size statue for himself, valued at approximately $300,000, with plans for its unveiling in Amsterdam, New York.
The statue's disclosure coincided with Trump's filing of financial disclosures showing over $2 billion in income, including significant cryptocurrency ventures launched since he took office for the second time. Constantino expressed that his actions were for the "greater good" and in America's best interest, aiming to honor Trump's bravery and discourage political violence.
Constantino secured his primary victory over state Assemblyman Robert Smullen. Smullen subsequently met with Trump and announced he would not appear on the Conservative Party ballot line in November, further clearing Constantino's path to the general election. Smullen stated he was "energized" about keeping the district Republican and confident in Trump's vision.
