GOP Challenger Accuses Incumbent Democrat of Voting with 'The Squad' 90% of the Time

Republican congressional candidate Scott Singer is challenging Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz in Florida's 25th Congressional District, asserting that Moskowitz's voting record aligns with progressive members of Congress rather than his purported moderate stance. Singer, the former mayor of Boca Raton, told Fox News Digital that he believes his own record of fiscal conservatism and local leadership offers a clear contrast.

"People understand the real Jared Moskowitz, one who votes with the squad 90% of the time, voted to put [Rep.] Ilhan Omar [D-Minn.] on the Foreign Affairs Committee, has passed no bills in Congress, but traded $4.5 million worth of stocks since he's been there," Singer stated. He added that Florida's 25th Congressional District, following redistricting, is now a Republican-leaning district.

Singer highlighted his tenure as mayor of Boca Raton, citing tax cuts, reduction in red tape, and a decrease in crime. "As mayor of Boca Raton, not only did we have the lowest property tax rate of any full-service city in Florida, I cut the tax rate seven times," Singer said. "I cut crime by more than 25% from what were 40-year lows. Those are a record of results that people can relate to, because we improved the quality of life, improved the job base, lowered taxes, and made our streets safer."

Singer also questioned Moskowitz's claims of being a strong supporter of Israel. "He says he's strong on Israel, but he voted against US-Israeli cooperation, when other Democrats were willing to cross the aisle," Singer alleged. He also pointed to Moskowitz's vote to keep Rep. Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee, despite Moskowitz's reported criticisms of Omar's past statements.

"I'm a stronger supporter for Israel. I would never have put Ilhan Omar on the Foreign Affairs Committee. I would not have, like he did, voted against U.S.-Israel cooperation in the NDAA [National Defense Authorization Act]," Singer said. He further claimed Moskowitz admitted in a recent interview with Jewish Insider that he is being ostracized within his own party.

Moskowitz, representing a district with a significant Jewish population, has faced scrutiny over his voting record and alignment with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Singer contends that Moskowitz's voting record, which he characterizes as "90% with the squad," demonstrates a departure from moderate positions and a need for a representative with a proven local track record.
