Good Morning America Stars' Absence at Colleague's Wedding Sparks Workplace Whispers

Several members of the Good Morning America team gathered to celebrate contributor Will Ganss and his husband Jason Sparks at their wedding in New York City last weekend. The event, described by some attendees as the "wedding of the century," was held at the Angel Orensanz Center in Manhattan. Among the guests were third-hour host Rhiannon Ally, weekend co-anchor Whit Johnson, ABC News correspondent Andrea Fujii, The View co-host Sara Haines, and ABC correspondent Gio Benitez with his husband Tommy DiDario.

However, the absence of GMA's main anchors—Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan—did not go unnoticed by those in attendance. Sources told the Daily Mail that while the absence of one anchor might be overlooked, the collective absence of the show's three biggest stars drew attention and has become a topic of conversation among colleagues.

"When Robin, George and Michael all don’t show up, people notice," one insider commented. "The message, intentional or not, is that the people at the top don’t necessarily feel the same obligation to the team that the team feels toward them."

Another source suggested that this perceived disparity in obligation fuels workplace discussions. "There are Robin, George and Michael - and then there is everybody else. That is absolutely how it feels. They are the stars. They are treated differently, they have enormous power, and everyone is expected to show up for them," the insider said. The sentiment is that support travels upward quickly, and its absence when traveling downward is keenly observed.

Ganss, an Emmy Award-winning journalist, became engaged to Sparks last summer. He is a self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fan, having shared a photo with the singer after both flashed their engagement rings. The engagement itself was reportedly a Taylor Swift-themed proposal. Pictures and videos of the wedding celebrations were shared on social media by attendees.

It remains unclear if Roberts, Stephanopoulos, and Strahan were invited to the wedding. Representatives for ABC and Ganss did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
