Professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau and model Mikayla Demaiter have confirmed they are dating, according to an insider. The relationship is described as new, with both individuals reportedly "very happy."
Clues had surfaced online, leading to fan speculation about their relationship status. DeChambeau, 32, and Demaiter, 26, have largely kept their personal lives private.
Demaiter, once a goalie for the Bluewater Hawks in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League Junior League, retired from hockey at age 19 due to an injury. She has since built a significant presence on social media, amassing over 3 million Instagram followers and 2.7 million on TikTok, earning the moniker "the world's sexiest hockey player."
While no longer playing professionally, Demaiter continues to incorporate hockey elements into her social media content, often posing in hockey gear. She has expressed her passion for the goalie position, stating in a May Instagram post, "there’s nothing i love more than being number one."
Demaiter first sparked rumors of a relationship with DeChambeau when she was seen wearing a guest pass at LIV Golf New York at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. She was also observed sporting a Crushers GC hat, the team DeChambeau captains.
Further speculation arose when Demaiter posted a selfie from a closet filled with sneakers and hats, followed by an image of a seaside golf course on her Instagram story, leading fans to believe she was at DeChambeau's residence.
Demaiter is expected to attend more of DeChambeau's events, potentially including LIV Golf Indianapolis, which is scheduled to begin Thursday at The Club at Chatham Hills. This event is the last LIV Golf event of the season, following the cancellation of the team championships in Michigan due to financial challenges.
DeChambeau has faced a challenging year in his golf career. He missed the cut at the Masters, PGA Championship, and U.S. Open. His performance at the British Open in July, where he finished tied for 14th, was impacted by a two-shot penalty for inadvertently altering the area of his intended swing. This penalty moved him from 7-under par, one shot off the lead, to 5-under and tied for fifth place heading into the third round.
