Global Talents Shine at 2026 Dog Photography Awards
An international array of canine charm and photographic skill was celebrated at the annual Dog Photography Awards, featuring winners from across 50 countries.
Heartwarming and humorous images capturing the essence of dogs have been recognized at the 2026 Dog Photography Awards. The competition, which drew approximately 1,900 entries from photographers worldwide, celebrated a diverse range of canine subjects and photographic styles.
The awards featured categories such as portraits, action, studio, dogs and people, documentary, and open, with a prize of £2,119 for the top contenders. Katie Brockman from the United States was honored with the title of Dog Photographer of the Year and also secured first place in the Studio Category.
Susan Lang from the UK earned second place in the Portrait Outdoor category for her image titled "The hunter becomes the hunted," which depicts a dog curiously observing a mural of a cat. Honorable mentions were awarded to photographers from various countries, including Sylvain Langler, Melissa Nordan, Kerstin Leichtenmuller, Tianhang Zhang, Michelle Dawkins, Rea Nellen, and Carolyn Bray.
The judging panel comprised esteemed photographers, canine experts, and industry professionals. A spokesperson for the event stated that the awards aim to "showcase the most exceptional dog photographs from across the globe" and "celebrate the artistry of top dog photographers, uncover emerging talents, and showcase the extraordinary diversity and charm of dogs."
Selected winning and honorable mention images highlighted the breadth of the competition, from dynamic action shots of dogs mid-leap to intimate portraits and playful compositions. These included images of dogs interacting with bubbles and bubble wrap, as well as intense action shots of dogs catching frisbees and balls.
