Glastonbury Tickets Sell Out in Under an Hour
Hundreds of thousands of hopeful attendees secured their spots for the 2027 festival within 42 minutes.
Tickets for the 2027 Glastonbury Festival sold out in just 42 minutes on Sunday morning, with hundreds of thousands of Britons attempting to secure a place.
The sale commenced at 9 a.m. local time, but by 9:42 a.m., all tickets were gone, leaving many fans disappointed. Organizers had implemented a new queuing system, requiring registered attendees to complete a CAPTCHA and enter a unique registration number to join the line. This system was intended to prevent individuals from using multiple devices or tabs to gain an advantage.
According to See Tickets, the vendor for the festival, confirmation emails were being sent out to purchasers shortly after the sell-out. "Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out," the vendor stated.
Despite the new measures, many hopeful festival-goers expressed frustration on social media. One user on X, formerly Twitter, questioned the transparency of the queue allocation, stating they were in the waiting room before 8:50 a.m. but remained stuck on "2 bars" with uncertainty about how queue places were determined.
Other attendees shared their disappointment, with some finding alternative plans. One individual wrote, "We didn't get Glastonbury festival tickets. Absolutely gutted. But as a consolation prize, we've just booked Boomtown tickets which we are absolutely stoked about." Another expressed their long-standing struggle to obtain tickets, writing, "Once again no tickets, I have been trying to get tickets most of my life which is a very long time."
The Glastonbury Festival is scheduled to take place from June 23-27.
