Tourists can now experience a unique glamping getaway on King Charles III's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England. The "Experience Freedom" glamping site, operated by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, offers safari tents within the royal grounds, providing an immersive nature experience at a starting price of £79 per night.

The site, which has operated on the estate since 1977 with the involvement of the late Prince Philip, underwent a significant redevelopment, including a new facilities block, and reopened earlier this year. It is located approximately a 30-minute walk from the main Sandringham House.

The deluxe safari tents are fully equipped, featuring three bedrooms, a modern bathroom, and a kitchen with appliances including a dishwasher, offering a comfortable stay that blurs the lines between camping and traditional lodging. These tents can accommodate up to six people.

Guests can enjoy the surrounding natural environment, with opportunities to explore the 20,000-acre estate. Activities include walking through woodland trails to reach the visitor center and Sandringham House. The site is also a short drive from the Norfolk coastline, with beaches such as Hunstanton South Beach and Old Hunstanton Beach accessible for day trips.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, sink, appliances and a dishwasher - it hardly feels like a tent

Evenings can be spent enjoying meals on the spacious decking area, often accompanied by visits from local wildlife, such as rabbits. The site also offers amenities like fairy lights to enhance the evening ambiance. Nearby dining options include The Farmers pub, a short drive from the estate.

The glamping site provides a retreat from urban life, allowing visitors to feel connected to nature while staying within the historic Sandringham Estate. The minimum stay is two nights, with pricing from £79 per night for a Deluxe Safari Tent during the low season.
