Zack George, known for his role in the revived "Gladiators" series, and his wife Samantha have welcomed a baby boy named Otis Leo George. The couple shared the news on Monday, approximately 14 months after the tragic death of their first son, Leo.
Otis was born weighing 9 pounds, 8 ounces. George explained in a social media post that his son's middle name, Leo, is a tribute to their late child. "One day he'll ask us about his middle name and we'll tell him it honours someone who would have loved him more than anything," George wrote.
The arrival of their new baby is helping the couple to heal following Leo's passing. "You will heal us more than you will ever know. We love you so much… Our baby boy," George posted.
Leo was born prematurely at 23 weeks and passed away on April 7, 2025, after spending 13 days in neonatal intensive care. George and his wife had begun trying for another child in August, seeking to fill the void left by Leo's death. "It's been a really short time, but I need to fill that void, we want another baby, another little boy," Samantha George previously stated.
The couple revealed that a "risky" procedure contributed to Leo's death. Despite initial hope, Leo developed air pockets around his lungs, which doctors believed was caused by a tube creating a hole in his windpipe. "It's no one's fault, a baby that young is really fragile, it's just a risk," George said.
Leo's brief life was marked by significant medical challenges, including three blood transfusions, a collapsed lung, brain bleeds, a hole in his heart, and a hole in his trachea. In memory of their son, George announced the launch of a charity challenge called "13 days fighting."
