Gisele Bündchen's Handwritten Letter to Tom Brady Revealed

Gisele Bündchen expressed her desire for more of Tom Brady's time and attention in a handwritten letter penned before their divorce, according to a new book. The letter was reportedly given to the retired NFL quarterback after the New England Patriots' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2018 Super Bowl.

Author Lars Anderson details in "Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness" that Bündchen wrote the note to express that their marriage was struggling. "She explained that their marriage wasn’t working," Anderson writes, as reported by the Daily Mail. "She needed more of him, more of his time, more of his attention, more of his heart."

Anderson claims that Bündchen, 46, wanted Brady, 49, to be more present at home, rather than focused on his phone or replaying games in his mind. The supermodel also sought more assistance with their children and more time to dedicate to her own career, according to the book. A former teammate of Brady's is quoted in the book suggesting that Bündchen, who was an international star in her own right, grew tired of adhering to Brady's demanding NFL schedule and feeling overshadowed during football season.

The book suggests there were perceived imbalances in their relationship, with the teammate questioning how often Brady supported Bündchen's career. According to Anderson, the couple engaged in couples counseling, and Brady would later reread Bündchen's letter on contemplative nights as a reminder to nurture their marriage with the same dedication he applied to his career.

In other revelations from the book, Anderson claims Bündchen cited astrological incompatibility as the reason for ending the relationship. Bündchen and Brady finalized their divorce on October 28, 2022, after 13 years of marriage. Brady had announced his retirement from the NFL in February 2022, only to reverse his decision a few weeks later.

In a statement following the divorce, Bündchen stated, "We have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always."

The former couple share two children: Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13. Bündchen reportedly married jujitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in December 2025 and they welcomed a son in August 2026.
