Gisele Bündchen 'Not Bitter' About Tom Brady Divorce, 'Grateful' for Their Time Together

Gisele Bündchen is reportedly "not bitter" about her divorce from Tom Brady and feels "grateful" for the years they spent together, according to an insider speaking to People.

"She always thought she would be married to Tom for the rest of her life," the source said. "The divorce was very upsetting, and she struggled to understand it at the time, but she’s not bitter." The insider added that Bündchen is "grateful for their children and the years they shared."

Bündchen and Brady, who were married in February 2009, share two children: Benjamin Rein Brady, born in December 2009, and Vivian Lake Brady, born in December 2012. Bündchen also became a stepmother to Brady's son Jack, whom he welcomed with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan in 2007.

The couple announced their divorce in October 2022, stating that their priority was their children. At the time, Bündchen explained that they had simply “grown apart” after 13 years of marriage. Brady's decision to reverse his retirement from the NFL around the same period was also noted.

According to author Lars Anderson's book "Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness," Bündchen had expressed that the couple were "not compatible." Anderson claims Bündchen made attempts to salvage the marriage, including a handwritten note detailing her needs for more family attention. A former teammate of Brady's suggested in the book that Bündchen felt she was living on Brady's schedule and in his shadow during football season, and that there were imbalances in their support for each other's careers.

Bündchen has since married jujitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in December 2025 and they have a son together whose name has not been revealed.
