Girlfriend's Enthusiastic Support Fuels Ben Rice's Playoff Performance
Sara Falkson celebrated her boyfriend Ben Rice's standout game with social media posts and a unique 3D-printed gift.
Ben Rice's girlfriend, Sara Falkson, shared her excitement following his dominant performance in the Yankees' 9-0 wild-card victory over the Red Sox. Rice’s performance included two home runs and six RBIs, highlighted by a crucial grand slam in the eighth inning.
Falkson posted a video of Rice’s grand slam to her Instagram story with the caption "LFGGGG." She also shared images of Rice celebrating his plays and of Yankee Stadium after the game's conclusion. She was in attendance with friends, including Rice’s sister Sarah.
Prior to the game, Falkson presented Rice with a custom 3D-printed artifact. The item featured an image of Rice based on a "Let’s Go Ben Arroz!!!!" poster she had created. Falkson, an entrepreneur and founder of Robyn Athletic, stated her intention was to create something "special to celebrate everything that is to come this October."
Rice expressed his appreciation for the gift, calling it "special" in a video shared by Falkson. She indicated she was working on another creation for Game 2, posting a video of her 3D printer working on a New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty design.
Rice’s strong offensive output contributed significantly to the Yankees' win. He hit a solo home run in the fifth inning off of a sinker from Erik Miller, putting the Yankees ahead 2-0. Later, in the seventh inning, he singled off Alec Gamboa with the bases loaded, driving in two runs and extending the Yankees' lead to 4-0. His grand slam in the eighth inning sealed the team's dominant victory.
Fans responded positively to Falkson's efforts, with some encouraging her to continue her creative support throughout the postseason.
Rice and Falkson are both from Massachusetts and attended Dartmouth College, where Falkson played field hockey and Rice played baseball. In his third season with the Yankees, Rice had a .897 OPS with 41 home runs and 97 RBIs during the regular season, earning him his first All-Star selection. The Yankees are scheduled to play Game 2 of the wild-card series on Wednesday evening.
