Dancer Giovanni Pernice, 35, was photographed with his girlfriend, actress Bianca Guaccero, 45, in Portofino, Italy. The public display of affection occurred as Pernice's new memoir, "Gio: Taking the Lead," is set to be released, detailing his experiences following his departure from "Strictly Come Dancing."
Pernice was removed from the popular television series after actress Amanda Abbington accused him of alleged "vile abuse" during rehearsals. An inquiry by the BBC followed. While the broadcaster cleared Pernice of the most serious accusations and issued a formal apology to Abbington, his memoir reportedly touches on his feelings of being suicidal in the aftermath.
The report from the BBC's investigation indicated that some language used by Pernice toward Abbington could be perceived as "belittling," and his feedback was sometimes "overly negative," including the use of profanity. The investigation also noted two instances of "inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace," which were deemed to have been "made and received as jokes" between the two.
Abbington, who has since been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), reportedly received a five-figure out-of-court settlement and legal fee contribution from BBC Studios. Sources indicated this settlement was intended to avoid a lengthy legal battle and allow Abbington to move forward. Abbington's representatives have not commented, and the BBC declined to comment.
Pernice and Guaccero, who met in late 2024 as dance partners on "Ballando con le Stelle," the Italian version of "Strictly," are enjoying a trip together. Their professional partnership evolved into a romantic relationship, and they won the competition.

Pernice, shirtless, wore Gucci swimming shorts, while Guaccero opted for an orange swimsuit. The couple was seen relaxing by the pool and engaging in public displays of affection. The trip coincides with the upcoming Italian version of "Dancing With The Stars" in October.
Pernice is also preparing for his "Unstoppable" UK tour in 2027.
