Gina Kirschenheiter is reflecting on the unfolding dynamics of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20. Speaking about the current season, Kirschenheiter noted the positive impact of veteran cast member Vicki Gunvalson's return, stating that Gunvalson "gave the group more synergy." She observed that Gunvalson seamlessly re-integrated into the cast, even taking on a mediating role between Tamra Judge and Shannon Storms Beador, who Kirschenheiter described as "exhausted" and ready to move past their previous conflicts.
However, Gunvalson's presence also brought friction, particularly stemming from a comment made by Kirschenheiter's close friend, Emily Simpson. Simpson had referred to Gunvalson as a "Debbie Downer" during a game. Kirschenheiter explained that Gunvalson was deeply offended by the remark, bringing it up repeatedly throughout the season. Kirschenheiter also acknowledged that Gunvalson's ongoing knee pain may have influenced her behavior, making it difficult for her to accept that the injury was impacting her energy and personality.
Kirschenheiter also addressed a brief conflict with newcomer Carmella Garcia. The disagreement arose after Garcia gifted Simpson a Dior clutch containing a vibrator for her birthday. Kirschenheiter found the gift unusual, and while she expressed her feelings privately, Simpson informed Garcia. Kirschenheiter stated that the issue was quickly resolved after a discussion at a wine tasting, with both parties understanding each other's perspectives.
Describing her relationship with Heather Dubrow, Kirschenheiter called fighting with her "the worst," adding, "Every year, there’s always something that happens." She attributed some of their clashes to their shared New York backgrounds, suggesting a tendency to express their thoughts directly. Despite these occasional disagreements, Kirschenheiter emphasized their close bond and her efforts to avoid involvement in group conflicts, while still finding herself drawn into them.
Looking ahead in the season, Kirschenheiter expressed excitement for viewers to see the cast trip to Tokyo, calling it a "sensational" experience. She also noted her satisfaction with her and Simpson's appearances this season.
