Giants Secure Victory Over Cardinals Fueled by Late Pick-Six
Deonte Banks' interception seals the win for New York, while quarterback Jacoby Brissett struggles in the second half.
The New York Giants secured their third win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 in a game that culminated with a defensive touchdown. Cornerback Deonte Banks intercepted Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett at the 2-yard line and returned it 98 yards for a game-sealing touchdown as time expired.
The pivotal play occurred just four plays after Banks was called for a pass interference penalty that gave the Cardinals possession deep in Giants territory.
Jacoby Brissett, who started the game effectively, saw his performance decline in the second half. He finished the game with three interceptions, including the crucial final play. In the second half alone, Brissett threw for 90 yards and completed 11 of his 20 passes.
Another standout performer for the Giants was wide receiver Malik Nabers, who posted six receptions for 112 yards and his first touchdown of the season. The 25-yard scoring reception marked Nabers' return to the end zone for the first time in over a year, following a torn ACL injury sustained on September 28, 2025.
This victory marks the first time the Giants have started the season 3-0 at home in 18 years.
"You know who else came through? Tae Banks," Giants coach John Harbaugh said after the game. "After a crazy pass interference penalty. I thought you had to touch the guy for it to be pass interference?"
